Route planning and scheduling must aim at avoiding hazards, unsuitable roads and congested areas as far as possible. The route hazard maps could be supplied to each driver for every route. In nutshell, risk identification in journey is precisely done through this assessment.

The scope includes understanding the risks, challenges & deficiencies in the road environment, and their interactions with road users, towards creating a pre-journey advisory for drivers, undertaking the journeys. The aim of JRA is to make journey safer and accident free for the designated route.
